A New View of a Woman's Body" caused a sensation in the USA as well as in German-speaking countries in the 1970s. The illustrations of the female body contained here showed largely unknown details for the first time and enriched conventional medical knowledge with alternative insights. In the present version, this groundbreaking presentation of the female sexual complex has been supplemented by the fact that methods of self-examination are now also explained and health issues typical of women form a separate topic. These include, for example, contraception,safer sex, abortion, cosmetic surgery, and intimate surgery. Another chapter is devoted to the question of bodies and identities. A ride through the history of the women's health movement also documents the growing curiosity to take a serious look at sexuality and physicality.

This book remains a unique bonanza for its unbiased, observationally accurate, and all-encompassing look at female sexual anatomy. Drawings and photographs such as these cannot be found in any other publication.

Often, of all things, the interrelationships of the female sexual apparatus are missing from conventional anatomy or medical textbooks, as well as from comparable so-called technical literature. In order to close this gap, the classic book was unceremoniously reissued.
